Installation Terms and Conditions
Warranty / Service Calls / Warranty Replacement / Call Out
Auto Defence Installations come with a 1 years warranty period as standard under UK / United Kingdom trading laws. This warranty covers the installation and parts within the product purchased. If a product comes with a longer warranty than a standard 1 year, for example some alarms come with a 3 year warranty period. Its only the product thats covered by this extended warranty. Not the installation. ( A call out fee will be charged for any fault after the 12 month warranty period. )
If a service call / warranty / call out is required from Auto Defence and upon appointment it is a user error or vehicle a vehicle fault which is not realated or caused by the installation or expected wear and tear then a call out fee (£79.99) will be charged, this fee is payable to cover the expense of an engineer coming to you at your home or workplace. If the fault is a normal product issue such as a (car alarm remote battery going flat) this is not covered by any form of warranty. Any parts which are designed to be serviced by the user, we can't be held responsable for. If an engineer arrives onsite and parts are required, which are not covered by the manufatures warranty these will need to be purchased from ourselves*. ( * At additional Cost )
The following are not covered under warranty offered by Autodefence under your standard 1 year warranty period. user error, misuse / abuse of product, damage, Please be aware no one is to modify or change any features of the product or change the installation in any way other than our approved installers.
Under UK / United Kingdom law you the customer have to allow us the engineers to return to your vehicle within 14 days to put the installation right / correct before contacting any other company. ( Please be aware we send out engineers between 9AM-5PM Mon-Fri.)
In the event that an appointment nees to be cancelled, we require more than 24 hours notice (Mon – Fri) if this is not given then a cancellation fee will be charged (£79.99). If we are given incorrect details for a booking when ordering online such as a wrong address or contact phone number. We will charge a cancellation fee of £79.99. This is to cover our expenses and the engineers. If you wish to change the installation address we require more than 24 hours notice (Mon – Fri). If the kit has been sent direct to the engineer and this needs to be sent back to us a admin / postage fee of £25.00 will be charged. If 24 hours notice is not given we are fully within our rights to charge a cancellation fee of £79.99.
If an installation is cancelled and the customer requires / requests a refund from ourselves. then the delivery charge is not refunded ( Even if this is stated as Free Postage when purchasing ). Postage still costs around £10 per item to deliver. All parts are to be returned by the customer via an insured delivery method. These must be in exactly the same condition as they were sent meaning no product damage, no wires damaged, no manual damage, no paperwork damage, no box / packaging damage.
If an installation engineer is left waiting on arrival, then he will wait onsite for 15 mins. ( Picture evidence may be taken on site ) this is to ensure all other customers appointments are not affected. If the equipment has been sent to the customer ths MUST be available / ready when the engineer arrives on site. If any of the above occurs on the installation date AutoDefence will need to re-book your installation and a charge of £79.99 will be payable.
If any items / products / parts are to be returned they need to be sent back to DB Vehicle Electrics, 5 Tuplin Road, Mablethorpe, Lincolnshire, LN121FE. Remember you the customer are responsiable for any items being returned.
Payment & Privicy
Auto Defence take special care with every order placed by Sage Pay or Paypal. We don't store any card infomation meaning all your details remain secure.
We forward our payments to a 3D secure card payment service which is named ( Sage Pay ) we don't store your credit or debit card details ourselves or pass any of your infomation onto a 3rd party. our contact details for legal purposes,we trade under DB Vehicle Electrics, 5 Tuplin Road, Mablethorpe, Lincolnshire, LN121FE. We perform certain security ourselves and also our payment gateway providers carry out checks to protect customers and stop credit card fraud in the UK.
All goods remain the property of Auto Defence until paid in full. We reserve the right to charge an administration fee of £45 for any credit or debt card charge back when the customer is at fault.
Auto Defence provide the best aftercare and sales support in the automotive industry. We also use certified installers meaning you are assured you will have your installation carried out to a high standard. If our engineer or delivery is delayed due to reasons outside of our control we are in no way liable to provide compensation. This includes personal work income / lose of earnings.
Any suspected damage to the vehicle during an installation must be proven and agreed with the engineer before he leaves site. If in the rare case damage has been made, then our installers are all fully insured for such instances, as our installers are self employed any damage must be claimed and paid direct with the installer. Auto Defence are not liable for such cases.
In a rare case of a product failing you need to give us a FAIR amount of time ( 14 days under UK law. ) to get the warranty replacement fitted. A receipt will need to be provided when requested.
Any prices quoted may be subject to change if additional parts or labour are required.
This is why its very important at the time of ordering to make sure all your vehicle information is correct. Even paint colour codes for parking sensors.
Setting up products / Demo
Our installers will always set up and explain how your new product works. Our installers have a time limit of 5 mins to carry this out. Product manuals will be provided on the day, you will be required to fully read these. additonal support of such product demo / learning will be chargeable.
Location and parking
Please be aware you the customer have to provide parking for our engineer. This means all parking permit or payments must be paid for by you the customer. If the job is within the London congestion charge this will be passed onto yourself the customer. The same is applied for any toll roads.
Pre and post checks
Our installer will check the vehicle before, and after the installation, and may ask you to sign a completed job sheet. We / Auto Defence advise the customer checks the vehicle with the installer before and after the installation, any faults or problems with the vehicle must be raised and discussed with the installer before he leaves site. Any claims thereafter are not liable. The installers / engineer are not responsible for any issues raised once the installer has left the site. Auto Defence uses Sub Contract engineers, which carry there own insurance policy. Any issues / problems during / after installation must be taken care of by the engineer. ( We / AutoDefence are not responsabile for any issue regarding a vehicle realated problem )
We are able to offer a refund on parts that are returned to us safely, in the original packaging / Un Damaged / Unused and that are pre agreed with Auto Defence. No refunds are possible on any delivery charges, or labour. If equipment has been installed, then no labour fees can be refunded. This may include the installation, and de installation of any parts.
By purchasing from Auto Defence you automatically agreed to our terms and conditions, and these apply for all instances.
